to this year’s edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. After circumstances precluded us from being able to present the most beautiful Historic Cars to a broadly-based public last year, we now finally have the opportunity to join together once more for a festival of timeless elegance and beauty. Alongside the classic programme on Saturday, this year’s edition will also offer you a showcase on Sunday of the participating exquisite Historic Cars and Concept Cars in the parkland of Villa d’Este.

This year, the unique venue of the Concorso d’Eleganza in the grounds of Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como celebrates a truly memorable anniversary. The Grand Hotel Villa d’Este has been a hallmark for fulfilment of the highest aspirations espousing discreet luxury and superlative service for many generations, and this year it is opening its doors for the 150th season as the Grand Hotel.

As President of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and Head of BMW Group Classic, I am moreover delighted to be able to present an anniversary in our own right, which has also entered the annals of history in a dedicated class participating in the contest: 50 years of BMW M. The most powerful letter in the world, “M” stands for Motorsport, highly respected icons and winners of countless races. While legendary models from the history of BMW M are represented in the award class “50 Years of Mean Machinery: BMW’s M Cars and their Ancestors”, we also invite you to witness the exclusive world premiere of the BMW M4 CSL on the shores of Lake Como as we present a new member of the BMW M family to you. It is also our pleasure to feature the next generation of sheer driving pleasure with the all-electric BMW i7 especially for you in the Mosaic Garden of Villa d’Este.

The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este offers you a comprehensive visual showcase of Historic Cars from all eras, representing a grandiose array of marques and models, styles and fashions, and wildly different ideas. Sunday will see our independent Jury composed of distinguished experts from all over the world taking a decision on the “BMW Group Trophy – Best of Show” and the “Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award”. However, prior to that finale, you – our esteemed guests – will be asked to reach a decision on the Saturday. At the venue itself or online, you are invited to make use of the Concorso d’Eleganza App to award the “Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este”.
