While the design of the 963 racing car is based on Porsche classics of the recent past, its interior values set new standards. The heart of the drive system is a 4.6-liter V8 biturbo with twin turbocharging, including support from an electric motor. The basis of the engine comes from the 918 Spyder high-performance hybrid sports car. Its DNA goes back to the RS Spyder racing car, with which Porsche and Team Penske celebrated countless successes from 2005 to 2008.
The racing car, which weighs around 1,000 kilograms, is powered by a total output of 500 kW (680 hp). The maximum speed of the engine is 10,000 revolutions per minute.
With a maximum of 110 decibels when passing by, the Porsche 963 nevertheless produces a rich sound. The basis of the engine comes from the 918 Spyder high-performance hybrid sports car. The powerful engine is designed to run on renewable fuels.
The design of the new Porsche 963 is based on the victorious classic 956 and 962 from the 1980s. At the rear, a continuous light strip forms the striking highlight of the current 992 generation of the Porsche 911. The conspicuous vehicle design in white, red and black emphasizes the reference to former successful Porsche racecars.
