Since 2011, the Concorso di Motociclette has also been part of the programme of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Today, the shores of Lake Como not only form the backdrop for an impressive presentation of particularly valuable and rare historic vehicles, but offer an event that creates a bridge between the past, present and future of aesthetic mobile appeal.
The Yearbook 2015 features the high points of the traditional classic weekend by Lake Como. The parkland and grounds of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and neighbouring Villa Erba were once again the ideal setting for the prestigious event with a rich tradition of presenting the world of historic automobiles and motorcycles. Visitors from all over the world lavished applause on the parades of vehicles competing in the beauty contest. They had the opportunity to admire the elegance and aesthetic flair of rare treasures on four and two wheels alongside the extravagance of the prototypes and concept cars.
Since the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is also dedicated to beauty on two wheels, BMW Motorrad contributed a world premiere. The BMW Motorrad Design Team presented a completely new interpretation of the tourer with the BMW Motorrad “Concept 101”: elegant, exclusive, extrovert and driven by unalloyed power. A powerful, emotional and highly exclusive six-cylinder vehicle was created under the slogan “The Spirit of the Open Road”, which transforms every journey into a very special experience.
The Concorso di Motociclette is a beauty contest for classic motorcycles that was held for the fifth time in 2015. The Münch-4 TTS-E from the year 1973 was the winner receiving the Trofeo BMW Group for Motorcycles.
